Spell Checker

Spider Writer has an integrated Spell Checker to catch spelling errors before your page ever reaches the web.  The speller's dictionary has over 100,000 entries and allows you to add your own entries for future checking.  The Spell Checker can be called from the Edit menu.

Spider Writer searches for misspelled words in your document and will skip over HTML tags during the spell check.  If any misspelled words are found, the Spell Checker window displays and highlights the word.  You can press Ignore to leave the word as it is.  Ignore All does not change the word and also skips over any occurrences of the word.  A list of spelling suggestions is displayed on the left side of the window.  Click on a word to place it into the Replace With text box.  The Replace button changes the misspelled word to whatever is in the Replace With text box.  Replace All changes all of the occurrences of the word to what is in the text box.  Add to Custom places the misspelled word into a custom dictionary so that in the future, the speller will recognize that word.  Cancel stops the spell check.

You can set several options for the Spell Checker in the Settings dialog.

See the Spelling Suggestions topic for more information on spell checking a single word.
